High School Speech Contest
The Rotary Club of Manassas held its 3rd annual Speech Contest at Manassas City Hall on Saturday, February 16th. The theme was "Lead the Way".
This year's contest involved four local high school students. Each presented before a three judge panel who graded them on presentation, content and originality. In a close contest, Meg Dvorak of Osbourne Park High School was judged to be the winner, followed by Arthur Tamayo, Jason Rogers and Guadalupe Vargas.
As the winner of this local event, Meg Dvorak won a cash prize of $150. She proceded to the regional area competition on March 1 where she again won first place and an additional $150. Meg will present at the District level competition on March 22 in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Good luck, Meg!
