Medical Missionaries

The Manassas Rotary Club is proud of its ongoing support for a unique group called Medical Missionaries who are an international humanitarian organization dedicated to providing health care, medical support, medical education, and training to the poor of the world.

Originally started by a group of doctors and nurses from Manassas, Virginia, Dr. Gilbert Irwin, wanting to reach out and help those in need, began recruiting volunteers from all areas of the community. Medical Missionaries has no paid employees and evolved from a volunteer effort to supply medicines, medical aid, clothing, and educational materials to the less fortunate.

The group now has 200 health professionals and lay volunteers, who have organized to help impoverished people in Third World countries and locally here in the USA.
